Massage Therapist @ The Spaces In Between in Bay Park - San Diego, CA

March 11, 20243 min read

Meet Dan Siddal, Owner and Massage Therapist of The Spaces In Between in Bay Park

The Nelson Network Bay Park: Shopping Local w/ The Spaces In Between Massage Therapy & Cupping and owner Dan Siddal. In this interview we learn about the many corrective and pain relief-benefits with massage, which is clearly more than a luxury pampering experience, it's a healing and corrective one that can truly relieve people of their chronic pain.

Describe your business

Each massage session is customized specifically for the individual based on the type of physical injury or other life stressors causing pain, tension and inflammation throughout the body. My goal is to alleviate the acute pain during your session, along with finding and addressing the root cause.

Where are you originally from?

Minnesota! But I've been in San Diego for about 20 years already.

Who Is Massage For?

The myth is that it's just a luxury people splurge on, when in fact it's much more than just pampering; it's healing. It's very good for healing things like chronic neck pain for example, so many of us spend a lot of time hunched over a computer which over time causes neck, back and shoulder issues. I also work on customers suffering from arthritis, fibromyalgia, circulatory conditions and so on.

Why did you choose this profession?

20 years ago I was encouraged by Mom, amongst others, whom I would massage away their back issues and they felt I'd be great at it and so I pursued it!

What Do You Do To Make Sure Each Customer Gets The Treatment They Need?

My customers know and would share with you, that I make sure to take the time to listen to their needs, address their chief complaint and most importantly follow my intuition as I work with my clients to create a treatment plan that will set them up for optimal health.

What would your customers say they love most about your business?

"I was looking for help with an injury, and found myself coming back again and again"
~ Jeff S - San Diego

"You will be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, personable, and intuitive massage therapist than Dan"
~ Martin L - San Diego

Please Share A Success Story With Us.

I had a client client suffering from a frozen shoulder and stiff neck, with very limited range of motion and in lots of pain. Being able to work on his injury and pain, taking that client back to a return of his range of motion, relieving his pain and the look of joy on his face was very memorable and I've created hundreds of results and stories like that over the years!

What are your greatest challenges?

I think just getting the word out that a once a month massage is a wonderful maintenance routine people can give themselves to really help maintain their health and avoid some of these chronic injuries and pain issues they otherwise think they need to live with.
The lasting results that keep them pain-free come from consistency.

How long have you lived in the neighborhood?

Almost 20 years, because I love it here!

What were the factors that made you choose this neighborhood?

Bay Park chose me! 20 years ago when I moved here from Minnesota, I "landed" in Bay Park. It was a great experience getting introduced to San Diego living, through Bay Park.

What do you love most about the neighborhood?

I love the community, the people and the Mission Bay is literally right down the street!

What are your favorite restaurants in the neighborhood?

I love Bay Park Fish Company, The Pub in Bay Park (formerly Dan Diego's), all the the great coffee shops and restaurants,
