I’m your REALTOR®. And there are parts of this career you may never see.
The Funny Thing About Real Estate: Selling Homes Is Seldom The Hard Part.
I’ve spent long afternoons showing you homes, sometimes when I had barely enough fuel left to finish the tour.
I’ve skipped meals because the only time you could see a house was right in the middle of my lunch hour. (Who are we kidding? It’s rarely an actual “lunch hour.” It’s usually the ten minutes I take to scarf down a grocery store sandwich while pulled over somewhere between appointments.)
I’ve fought for you in conversations you will never hear.
I’ve pushed back on your behalf when something the other side was pulling wasn’t fair.
I’ve made calls behind the scenes, negotiated solutions, calmed tempers, solved problems, and sometimes absorbed expenses myself because getting you safely to the other side mattered more to me than arguing over who should pay for something trivial.

I’ve walked away from conversations angry on your behalf, biting my tongue to stay professional, then picked up the phone and told you calmly: “Chin up. We’ll figure this out.”
When you lost the house you loved, I was disappointed too. I hurt for you, not for the lost commission check. I just didn’t show it. That was part of my job: brave face, forced smile, and the quiet confidence to remind you that we’d find another one. You needed me to remind you that another door would open, even while I quietly hurt alongside you because I knew how badly you wanted that one.
I’ve answered calls during my own heartbreak. I’ve worked when I wasn’t feeling well... colds, flu and worse -loss.
I’ve handled your problems from parking lots, hospital waiting rooms, my car, grocery stores and places where nobody around me knew that my client’s home, money, move, or future was hanging in the balance on the other end of the phone.
There have been transactions where I spent my own money helping a home show better, fixing a last-minute problem, or finding a solution between a buyer and seller - because sometimes keeping people moving forward matters more than keeping score.
And yes, there have been closings that meant more than a commission check.
That closing helped pay my mortgage just in time.
It bought groceries for my family. It helped me pay my ballooning bills.
Because REALTORS® have private lives and families too.

We have mortgages, worries, celebrations, losses, illnesses, kids, spouses, parents, and lives happening behind the scenes just like everyone else.
Yet when someone places their trust in us, something changes.
Your move becomes part of our life for a little while.
Your excitement becomes our excitement.
Your stress becomes something we carry.
Your problems become problems we start trying to solve.
And when we finally hand you the keys, put up the SOLD sign, or watch escrow close after weeks or months of work, it means something.
Not because another transaction is finished. Because a chapter of your life just changed. And in the process, you become a permanent part of our careers and, if we’re lucky, our lives. Because every so often, a client becomes more than a client.
They become a friend.

I’ve been doing this long enough to know that people rarely remember every contract clause, every inspection detail, every email, or every negotiation.
But they remember who showed up. They remember who answered.
They remember who stayed steady when things became difficult.
They remember who cared.
That is why, to me, real estate has never simply been about houses.
It is about people. It is about trust.
It is about showing up for someone during one of the biggest financial and emotional transitions of their life.
And sometimes, behind that calm REALTOR® standing beside you, there is a person quietly carrying a little piece of it with you.
I’m not complaining. Quite the opposite. I’m proud of the career I chose, the people I get to serve, and the work I still genuinely enjoy doing.
It’s relational. 👥
And sometimes, even for the professional, it gets very personal. ❤️
