Meet Bay Park's Nicole Stone, MS, LAc, Owner & Acupuncturist
at Remember to Breathe
Owner Nicole Stone sits down with me in this interview to explain the benefits of acupuncture and dispels some of the myths and sheds light on many of the different treatments. "I specialize in fertility and gynecology; couples come in to me to work on getting pregnant. Today's couples are far more stressed out due to work and lifestyle demands, causing hormonal imbalances which I help correct with acupuncture treatments, nutrition and mindfulness activities."
~ Nicole Stone, Owner of Remember To Breathe
Acupuncture: I earned an Acupuncturist Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Mission Valley
When I was 19 years old, I met my first mentor within the martial arts space; he was not only teaching me Kung Fu, but taught me nutrition, meditation, and herbal medicine which led me to acupuncture and going to school for it.
The fears of the needles hurting is such a rare to non-occurrence because I massage the area first, prepping it for a 1/8 to 1/4 insertion of these very fine needles. It's truly painless and relaxing. Also, Hollywood has made acupuncture look so exaggerated, we do not put dozens of needles in you; typically it's 5-10 and can be as many as 12 needles at a time.

My customers come to me in a fight or flight mode with their ailments and I help them achieve rest, digest and heal mode. My customers leave relieved or on their way to being relieved of insomnia, digestive issues, allergies, etc.
Within the first couple years of opening my business, I had a couple come in with unexplained fertility issues seeking my help. Frustrated by doctors who not only couldn't find anything wrong, but said everything was fine and they should be able to conceive. So, I went to work on them with a combination of stress reduction (mostly caused by long mutual work hours), mindfulness, acupuncture over the course of about three months. I was able to get them to a place where they were excited to get pregnant again due to being in a better mental and physical state.
Then it happened! One day I was in my office and the door burst open and my clients came in cheering "we're pregnant!" while waving a positive pregnancy test! What a moment of joy! We were all so happy! I love moments like this and thankfully I've created many, many more over the years!
